Working with any suitable data set please write a short (5 pages max) account summarizing an original investigation using path analysis. For this investigation you will:
1. Set up a simple preliminary theory to be tested. It should include some variables that both affect and are affected by others. One or more of your variables should be based upon a multi-item index derived using reliability and factor analytic techniques.
2. Draw the path diagram without the path coefficients.
3. Conduct the multiple regressions necessary to estimate the paths.
3. Evaluate your model, reformulating as necessary, erasing non-significant paths.
4. Enter the final path coefficients on the appropriate arrows.
5. Present a table summarizing all direct, indirect and total effects.
6. Discuss your results.
You should provide information on your reliability and factor analyses as well as any additional material in an appendix.
