This assignment requires that you prepare a brief written report outlining the results of an investigation using either factor or cluster analysis (or both) which relates to a topic of interest to you. As in your other work, data should be drawn the 1997 CES Study or another data set to which you have access. Your investigation may be largely exploratory in nature, but make your general theoretical concerns clear. Focus particularly upon why you are interested in discovering coherent subsets of variables or respondents and how your results may be of use in your research as well as upon reporting the results obtained. In completing the assignment you should submit no more than 5 double-spaced typewritten pages, in addition to the relevant computer output.
